About
Garden Of Loneliness
Art is everywhere, it can be any form, and it is influenced by many things, surroundings and even people. Long time ago and even now, artists and designers get inspired by nature, thus nature has always been our main source of inspiration, in everything that we could ever think of or encounter. It’s notable in science, math, astronomy, poetry, and of course, art. Therefore, there are many fan-artists of nature regardless of which style they follow, it all tells about nature and what nature gave us all along the human evolution journey. Nature is defined as the natural Earth and the things on it, or the essence of a person or thing. The trees, forests, birds and animals are all an example of nature.
As follows, this Art Series showcases fan art of a seven-member South Korean boy band called “bangtan sonyeondan (boys)”. They are the main influence of the story behind “Garden Of Loneliness”. They are illustrated in earthy characters, in a garden. The garden is based on a Korean garden style as well, for the fact that Korean garden are natural, informal, respectful and unforced, seeking to merge with the natural world. The meaning behind these illustrations lies behind simple words, that convey a deep meaning from within.

The story of this book is hugely inspired by “The Truth Untold” lyrics, which is sang by Bangtan Boys. The song talks about a garden, that possess a sense of loneliness, and emptiness, that is talking to someone. In light of this lyrics, there are seven artworks based on the members’ number, each tell a story, and a feeling that has a pleading voice, that is asking for attention. Basically, it is a garden that was dilapidated through time, therefore, it is praying to be remembered again, to be called by its name and to be cherished despite its broken pieces, self denial and wavering heart.

Unfortunately due to Covid-19 pandemic this project weren't displayed in the student gallery for my senior project for Studio Design course that is directed and taught by professor Gary Benzel at San Diego State University, California. Thus, I here present a digital version of the book along with two posters, offering a humble preview of how it was supposed to be presented.
I sincerely thank you, for checking out my art and reading it's description.
